The President of the Northern Youth Council of Nigeria has issued a stern warning to controversial personality VDM, giving him just 48 hours to retract what he described as a “disrespectful and inflammatory” comment made against the Sultan of Sokoto.
In a press release, the youth leader stressed that the Sultan is not just a traditional figure but a spiritual leader deeply revered in the region. He added that any attack on the Sultan is seen as a direct insult to the values and unity of Northern Nigeria.
The youth council demanded that VDM issue a public apology, failure of which would trigger legal and social consequences. This development has sparked mixed reactions online, with some defending VDM’s right to free speech, while others insist the Sultan of Sokoto deserves utmost respect.
As tensions rise, all eyes are on VDM and how he chooses to respond to the ultimatum.
